Research
excellence is a hallmark of the Physiology Department
in the University of Michigan.
The faculty
is active in a wide range of research areas using molecular, cellular
and integrative biology to study cellular or organ functions as
they relate to human diseases.
A focus on integrative genomics defines the current direction of
the department. Integrative genomics uses the tools of molecular
and cell biology to investigate the physiologic function of specific
genes in whole cells and intact animals.
